Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a dedicated Pharmacy Technician III for the Inpatient Pharmacy. This part-time role (16 hours) covers every other weekend and one weekday, handling sterile and non-sterile meds, inventory, and patient services.

Candidates must be registered with the MA Board of Pharmacy, hold PTCB or exCPT certification, and have relevant sterile IV experience to ensure compliance with USP 797 and pediatric IV compounding competency.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Must be registered with the MA Board of Pharmacy by hire date.
• National certification from PTCB or exCPT is required.
• 4 years of pharmacy technician experience; sterile IV experience preferred.
• Must be able to compound Pediatric IV and Chemo IV; maintain inpatient competency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute sterile (IV) and non-sterile medications, maintain inventory and records.
• Operate pharmacy automated technology systems and perform daily QA monitoring.
• Provide customer service and support training under supervision of Pharmacy Managers.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions and unsafe conditions to pharmacists or supervisor.
• Attend management training and development workshops.
