Job summary

Atrium Health Davie Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a full-time role in Davie, NC. You will assist licensed pharmacists with preparation, labeling, and distribution of medications, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances, in a hospital setting.

The position requires CPhT certification, NC pharmacy registration within 30 days, and a high school diploma. Immunization may be performed under supervision; a $6,000 sign-on bonus is offered for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• PTCB/NHA technician certification (CPhT) required.
• NC Board of Pharmacy registration within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Selects, prepares, and labels medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks and ticketing/ordering as applicable.
• Screens calls and routes using proper telephone etiquette.
• Maintains inventory, procurement, and outdate checks.
• Documents removal, stocking, and wasting of controlled substances.
• Performs nonsterile compounding and sterile IV admixture when applicable.
• Inspects storage areas and completes patient medication histories as needed.
• Participates in quality improvement and training activities.
