Job summary

University of Washington UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department seeks a Pharmacy Technician to join the inpatient team in Seattle. The role supports central and satellite pharmacies, under pharmacist supervision, with sterile compounding and medication preparation.

Strong candidates have completed an accredited technician program and hospital experience; WA state certification is required; evening shift available with full-time schedule. Pre-employment drug screen required.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or equivalent education/experience.
• Graduated from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program.
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications from physician orders including sterile products and extemporaneous doses.
• Load and refill PYXIS automated dispensing cabinets.
• Deliver medications to nursing units and clinics timely; return discards and manage returns.
• Package medications for single-unit and batch preparation, ensure in-date stock.
• Perform routine computer tasks: charges/credits and label generation.
• Transcribe patient lists into the reconciliation database and assist pharmacy staff.
