Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National certification by PTCB or NHA preferred.
• Valid New York State Pharmacy Technician Registration preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to perform arithmetic calculations including fractions, decimals, multiplication and division.
• Two years pharmacy and computer experience preferred, or relevant health care related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Medication distribution in inpatient pharmacy.
• Fill carts, restock Pyxis MedStations and manage narcotics.
• Send items to nursing units via Pneumatic Tube system.
• Prepare IV admixtures and chemotherapy products following aseptic technique.
• Maintain inventory and ensure adequate drug supplies.
• Process batch/labeling and perform quality assurance tasks.
