Job summary

Join Henry Ford Health as an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician in Detroit to assist in preparing medications for patients under pharmacist supervision. You will receive medication orders, enter them into the system, dispense meds, and maintain inventory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Michigan Pharmacy Technician License required.
• 6 months pharmacy experience preferred.
• Ability to type approximately 25 words per minute.
• Must possess communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of people in sometimes stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Picks up medication orders and delivers medications to patient care areas on a routine and emergency basis.
• Interprets and enters medication orders into the pharmacy computer system.
• Determines quantities needed to fill prescriptions and prepares medications for dispensing.
• Aseptically compounds and labels intravenous solutions.
• Fills unit dose cassettes and maintains medication records and inventory.
• Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and HFH staff.
