Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a pharmacist for inpatient operations, covering a 32-hour week. The role emphasizes accurate medication orders, patient education, and collaboration with the care team.

The position requires Massachusetts pharmacist licensure (or intern) and pediatric-related experience. The department offers comprehensive benefits and rotating day/evening shifts with every fourth weekend.

Qualifications

• Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles to analyses and solve problems.
• Hospital pharmacist experience preferred.
• Experience with EPIC Willow and Beacon highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Controlled substances distribution and non-sterile compounding oversight; inventory functions oversight and discharge prescriptions.
• Interpret and evaluate medication orders to ensure appropriate drug and dosage; contact physician as needed.
• Reviewing, filling and dispensing physician orders/prescriptions.
• Checking orders/prescriptions filled by support personnel; verify correct preparation and labeling.
• Providing drug information as subject matter expert.
• Providing patient education.
• Completing medication history documentation.
• Performing quality improvement activities.
• Supervising support personnel and ensuring procedures and protocols are followed.
