Job summary

Qualifications

• Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required or obtained within the first 90 days of employment
• Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy
• Minimum of one year of pharmacy practice experience in a similar setting preferred
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitor, screen and verify all drug-related orders for proper dosage, route, dosage form, and administration schedule
• Counsel patients regarding the safe and proper use of their medications
• Resolve drug therapy problems, clarify and correct problematic drug orders, designate pharmacy technicians to perform special assignments
• Expedite preparation and dispensing of all dosage forms by pharmacy personnel
