Job summary

Oregon Health & Science University is seeking a licensed pharmacist to provide safe and effective drug distribution and therapy for diverse patient populations, from neonates to the elderly. The role involves high-level decision making and collaboration with the health care team.

You will respond to drug information requests, monitor therapy, and participate in education programs for staff and students. The position is in a fast-paced, centralized-to-decentralized care model with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Current Pharmacist license issued by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy.
• OHSU may require training or experience in a specialized area at time of recruitment.
• Applicants must demonstrate pharmaceutical care principles across patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve and document complex therapeutic problems.
• Respond to drug information requests from physicians, nurses, patients and families.
• Monitor therapeutic response and adverse effects; report reactions and errors.
• Direct the work of students/residents and monitor performance.
• Influence therapy standards as a drug authority within the team.
• Develop treatment guidelines and document activities in patient records.
• Interpret and verify orders; supervise pharmacy technicians as needed.
• Train and orient technicians, interns, pharmacists, residents and students.
