Position Title: Inpatient Pharmacist

Location: Oneonta, NY 13820.

Duration: 13 WEEKS

Work Schedule: M-F 6:30a-5p, WKNDS & holidays 7a-330p

Pay rate: $75- $85/hr ($3,000 - $3,400/wk)

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Hours: 40 hours/week
• Experience Required: Recent inpatient pharmacy experience
• Schedule & Coverage
  • Department Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-5:00 PM
  • Shift Options: 6:30 AM-3:00 PM, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
  • Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Not currently anticipated
  • An every 3rd weekend rotation could potentially be needed if maternity/paternity leave begins earlier than expected
  • On-Call: No current formal call rotation
  • Pharmacy currently staƯs call with approximately 2-3 nights/week per person
  • A well-trained traveler may be added to the call schedule
• Inpatient Experience Requirements
  • Recent inpatient pharmacy experience is required
  • Retail/outpatient-only experience is not suƯicient
  • No specific specialty-area experience is required (ED, ICU/SCU, Med/Surg, OR, OB, etc.)
• Primary Responsibilities
  • Medication order verification
  • Medication dispensing
  • Pharmacy technician oversight
  • Pharmacokinetic dosing, including vancomycin and aminoglycosides
  • General inpatient pharmacy workflow and clinical support
  • No routine expectation to participate in codes, rapid responses, rounds, or antimicrobial stewardship
• Sterile Compounding
  • Immediate-use compounding experience and compounding technician oversight are required.
• Candidate should be comfortable with
  • Sterile compounding workflow
  • Oversight of pharmacy technicians performing compounding
  • Proper gloving, garbing, and hand hygiene
  • USP <797>/<800> experience required
  • Finger-tip testing and media-fill competency
  • AO Fox will complete competency validation onsite.

  • Medication Management/Dispensing: Client/Pyxis
  • Candidate should be comfortable working within an automated inpatient pharmacy environment
• Department Volume & StaƯing
  • Approximately 500 orders/prescriptions per day
  • Department is currently fully staƯed
  • Approximate staƯing: 3.2 pharmacists + 4 pharmacy technicians
• Licensure & Certifications
  • Degree: BS in Pharmacy accepted
  • PharmD is not required
  • BLS/ACLS: Not required
  • BCPS/Board Certification: Not required
  • Must meet applicable New York State pharmacist licensure requirements
• Floating
  • Traveler may provide pharmacy coverage at:
    • AO Fox Hospital - Oneonta
    • O'Connor Hospital - Delhi
• Orientation
  • Orientation length is dependent on the pharmacist's prior experience and demonstrated competency
  • Minimum of 2 weeks of training before working independently
  • Sterile compounding competency will be validated onsite
