Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Pharmacist 3 to provide essential pharmaceutical care in a clinical setting. The role includes preparing and dispensing medications, consulting with nursing and medical staff, and supervising technicians to ensure high-quality patient care across ages from neonates to the elderly.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, educating patients, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience.
• Pharmacist (RPH) license required; Residency Training can substitute.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients receive high-quality pharmaceutical care that is safe and effective.
• Compound and mix ingredients following all policies and procedures.
• Provide consultation and education to patients and caregivers about medication options.
• Verify accuracy, appropriateness, and potential interactions of medications and adjust as needed.
• Dispense medications and compounds in line with regulatory guidelines.
• Evaluate prescriber orders in the context of patient’s therapeutic needs.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist with inventory, purchasing, and quality control of medications.
• Maintain narcotics and other drug inventories as required by law.
