Job summary

Children's Hospital of Michigan (CHM) in Detroit is seeking an experienced Inpatient Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine physician to join an integrated pediatric team. You will perform bedside OMM evaluations and treatments for patients referred by hospitalists and subspecialists, spanning general pediatrics, NICU, PICU, and rehabilitation units.

You will participate in rounds, contribute to protocol development, and engage in academic activities with residents and medical students.

Qualifications

• DO or MD from an accredited institution with board certification or eligibility in pediatrics, family medicine, or related specialty.
• Completion of an approved residency in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.
• Licensed or eligible for Michigan medical licensure and board certification in relevant field.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) with pediatric inpatients.
• Fellowship/advanced training in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine or Pediatric OMM preferred.
• Experience in acute care or inpatient pediatric settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient OMM evaluations and treatments for pediatric patients across units.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, surgeons and subspecialists in rounds and care planning.
• Help develop and refine inpatient OMM protocols and referral pathways.
• Contribute to teaching residents and medical students on OMM indications and techniques.
• Support quality improvement, research, and leadership in pediatric OMM.

OMM proficiency with pediatric inpt

Education

DO or MD from an accredited institution

AOA- or ACGME-accredited residency in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or NMM/ONMM

Board-certified or board-eligible in relevant specialty

Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in Michigan

Fellowship or advanced training in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine or Pediatric OMM

Experience in acute care or inpatient pediatric settings
