Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine seeks a Patient Care Tech through Johns Hopkins Intrastaff. The role supports inpatient units with activities of daily living, vital signs and care coordination. The position is full-time with shifts across Johns Hopkins locations in Maryland, including Baltimore, offering diverse exposure to nursing and allied health teams.

Qualifications

• Total of one year of Patient Care Tech experience in inpatient Hospital setting over the last three years.
• High School Diploma/ Equivalent
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR
• Active Maryland CNA License
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, basic wound care, patient safety, and patient transport techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated duties related to the comfort and personal needs of the patients with consideration of their developmental needs.
• Communicate with patients, families, and Nursing staff and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
• Read and interpret equipment readings, in conjunction with patient information.
• Knowledgeable of operating parameters of patient care equipment.
• Work may involve exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, radiation and pharmacological agents.
• Assist with standing/walking, lifting and transporting patients and equipment.
• Ensure patient safety and accurate execution of procedures as directed by Nursing staff.
