University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join the inpatient Palliative Care team. You will work with physicians, nursing staff, social work, chaplaincy and consultants to provide specialized care for patients with complex illnesses.

The role focuses on symptom management, goals-of-care discussions, advance care planning, and family support within a high-acuity academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited NP program.
• Nurse Practitioner license in Maryland.
• National board certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient palliative care consultations and follow-up care.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Assist with symptom management and pain management strategies.
• Facilitate goals-of-care and advance care planning discussions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Support patients and families through complex medical decision-making.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
