Job summary

The Palliative Care Section within the Division of General Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking a full-time inpatient palliative care nurse practitioner to join our interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include performing histories and physical exams, coordinating care, educating patients and families, and working collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff and other health professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing required.
• Nurse Practitioner license and prescriptive authority required.
• 0-1 years related work experience preferred.
• MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA prescriptive authority.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examinations and develops care plans.
• Educates patients and families, and serves as a clinical resource for staff.
• Coordinates care with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals.
• Documents encounters clearly and timely.
