Job summary

Ballad Health seeks a Pharmacist, Clinical Specialist, Oncology (Inpatient) for Johnson City Medical Center. The role provides clinical pharmacy services, participates in rounds, and supports medication therapy management for adolescent to geriatric patients.

Requires a PharmD from an ACPE‑accredited college, 5+ years of clinical experience with 2+ years in a specialty area or a residency with specialty component, and board certification in pharmacotherapy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council for Pharmacy Education.
• At least five years of clinical pharmacy experience with two years in a specialty area OR completed a post-graduate residency with a dedicated specialty.
• Advanced degree with residency or comparable experience plus Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy.
• Experience with nutrition support, pharmacokinetic dosing, and drug information/education for healthcare providers.
• Strong communication, leadership, and ability to work with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate drug therapy orders and monitor dosing, adverse reactions, and interactions; provide drug information and cost-containment input.
• Perform specialized activities such as therapeutics and nutrition support formulations; participate in clinical research projects.
• Join rounds with the team and educate staff on drug therapy in specialty areas.
• Contribute to formulary management and development of evidence-based protocols.
• Precept pharmacy students and residents; engage with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
