Job summary

Day Kimball Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Inpatient Physical Medicine Department in Putnam, CT. Per diem employees are expected to work a minimum of 32 hours per month, with shifts in Days and one Saturday per month.

The role involves evaluating and treating patients to maximize function, with CT licensure and CPR certification required. A BS or MS in OT is required and one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Licensure by the state of Connecticut required.
• Current CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
• Minimum of one-year clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review physicians' referrals and patient records to determine OT treatment.
• Test and measure strength, mobility, sensation, function, and vital signs; document findings.
• Plan and write treatment programs with evaluative data and goals.
• Record treatment, progress and discharge information in chart or system.
• Administer OT programs including therapeutic exercise, modalities, gait training, and ADLs.
• Instruct and motivate patients to perform activities and use adaptive equipment.
