Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health invites a dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalist to join our growing inpatient women's services program in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This hospital-based role focuses on labor and delivery coverage, inpatient obstetrics, and collaborative team-based medicine within a physician-led care model.

We offer a high-volume regional referral setting with strong APP support, in-house neonatal and anesthesia coverage, and Epic EMR for seamless patient care.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required
• Completion of an OB/GYN residency program
• Board certified or board eligible in OB/GYN; certification within eligibility window
• NC licensure or eligibility to obtain NC licensure

Responsibilities

• Provide labor and delivery coverage and inpatient obstetrical management
• Evaluate obstetrical triage patients and inpatient gynecologic consultations
• Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections; manage obstetrical emergencies
• Collaborate with anesthesia, neonatal, nursing, and surgical teams; ensure continuity of care
• Maintain timely documentation in Epic EMR and communicate care plans with patients/families

Cape Fear Valley Health is seeking a dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalist to join our expanding inpatient women's services program in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This opportunity offers a collaborative physician-led care model with strong advanced practice provider support, high-volume obstetrical services, and access to comprehensive maternal-fetal and neonatal resources within a growing regional healthcare system.

This position is ideal for physicians seeking a hospital-based practice focused on labor and delivery coverage, inpatient obstetrics and gynecology care, and collaborative team-based medicine.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy degree required
• Completion of an accredited OB/GYN Residency program
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Board Certification required within established eligibility window
• Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina
• Willingness to obtain North Carolina licensure if currently out of state

Responsibilities

The OB/GYN Hospitalist will provide comprehensive inpatient obstetrical and gynecologic care, including:

• Provide labor and delivery coverage and inpatient obstetrical management
• Evaluate and manage obstetrical triage patients and inpatient gynecologic consultations
• Perform vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency obstetrical procedures as needed
• Manage obstetrical emergencies and collaborate closely with anesthesia, neonatal, nursing, and surgical teams
• Provide postpartum and inpatient gynecologic care
• Assist with surgical backup and emergent gynecologic procedures when indicated
• Collaborate effectively with community OB/GYN physicians and outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the Epic electronic medical record
• Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans and care coordination
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Support patient experience initiatives and service excellence standards
