Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in White Plains, NY is seeking a Nutrition Assistant for the Westchester Behavioral Health unit. This part-time role covers day shifts and requires assisting with routine food service, meal preparation, and patient care as part of the nutrition team.

You will work with the unit Registered Dietitian to support care plans, ensure safety, accuracy with tray tickets, and maintain a clean dining area. Evening/weekend coverage may apply as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read, understand, speak, and follow simple English instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Ability to use equipment and cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine food service and excellent customer service to inpatient behavioral health patients.
• Assist with tray tickets and diet orders in accordance with care plans.
• Maintain cleanliness of unit dining room and pantry; ensure food safety guidelines are followed.
• Label and date food items according to policy and assist with other department positions as needed.
