Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Nutrition Assistant in White Plains for per diem, day shifts with weekend coverage. You will support inpatient nutrition services by preparing meals, assisting patients, and ensuring food safety and accuracy of dietary orders.

The role involves teamwork with the unit Dietitian, patient verification, and adapting to multiple tasks across the department including retail, cold production, and sanitation as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work with the RN unit Dietitian to ensure care plans are followed.
• Maintain unit dining room and pantry cleanliness; follow food safety guidelines.

Nutrition Assistant - Westchester Behavioral Health - Per Diem - Rotating Shifts

Serve as a valued member of the team and provide essential support and superior customer service to our inpatient behavioral health patient population. In this role, you'll perform routine food service in all areas of food and nutrition department, including clerical and cleaning duties for meal preparation and protocols to ensure quality meal service in accordance with established policies and procedures. In addition, take accurate measurement of food and the service of food according to tray ticket and Provider's diet order and care plan. Work closely with the unit Registered Dietitian to ensure their care plan is carried out in order to see progress in the patient's nutritional status. You'll maintain the cleanliness of the unit dining room and pantry, ensure food safety guidelines are followed, perform patient verification, and protect patients from food allergens. Additionally, label and date food items according to policy and provide customer service to our patients. This Nutrition Assistant also covers other positions in the department, such as retail, cold production, and sanitation.

This is a per diem position with variably shifts between the hours of 5:30am-6:30pm, primarily requiring weekend/holiday coverage.

Preferred Criteria

• Extensive customer service experience and a desire to Put Patients First
• Prior food service experience in the hotel, restaurant, or retail industry
