Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Patient Care Tech for inpatient nursing units at Liberty Hospital. This role supports nurses with direct patient care, technical tasks, and unit operations across night and day shifts.

Under supervision, you will assist with patient rounds, charting, and routine care, while maintaining patient safety and effective communication with the nursing team. A strong teamwork mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED OR be currently enrolled in a high school or GED program.
• AND one of the following: Hold a CNA license or have completed the Gold Standard Intern Program.
• Have documentation of fundamentals of nursing courses.
• Have a minimum of 18 months in a relevant patient care role.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for admission, transfers and discharges including securing IV pump and updating patient information.
• Maintain a safe environment by cleaning equipment, infection control, and proper handling of supplies.
• Record hygiene, vitals, nutrition, intake/output, and transport specimens as required.
