Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a CNS/NP to serve as a clinical resource and independent practitioner on the inpatient unit. You will diagnose and manage acute and chronic diseases, oversee case management of complex patients, and collaborate with hospitalists and care teams.

The role emphasizes comprehensive assessments, medication management within NM regulations, and proactive patient education.

Qualifications

• Minimum two to three years experience in an acute care setting required.
• Prior experience working in a hospitalist setting desirable.
• Knowledge of professional medical practice and care to administer and evaluate patient care; knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer care.
• Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
• Knowledge of common safety hazard and precautions to establish safe work environment.
• Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide on-going patient care.
• Skill in maintaining medical records; skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and staff.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively to emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Completes a comprehensive health assessment including health history and physical examination.
• Determines the need for and interprets diagnostic tests.
• Communicates findings and plan of care to patient and family.
• Manages acute and chronic conditions with appropriate interventions.
• Prepares prescription orders and medications under regulatory rules.
• Initiates consultations and referrals with hospitalists and care team.
• Maintains patient medical records as required by hospital and regulators.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
