Advocate Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join an inpatient hospital team. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and managing acute and critical patients, working closely with physicians to coordinate access to specialty services and ensure continuity of care across settings.

The PA will provide clinical direction to nursing staff, prescribe therapies as needed, assist with pre-operative planning, discharge planning, and referrals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant required.
• Two years of experience in providing and coordinating care for acute/critical patients preferred.
• PA-C licensure with NCCPA certification and DEA registration required or to be obtained.

Responsabilités

• Evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute and critical patients in an inpatient setting.
• Acts as primary contact for patients and physicians, coordinating access to specialty teams.
• Provides clinical direction to nursing staff and ensures adherence to care plans.
• Prescribes and coordinates therapies across care settings, including controlled meds when appropriate.
• Coordinates pre-operative, discharge planning, and referrals to other providers.
• Orders, performs, and interprets procedures and tests to manage conditions and supports patient care.
• Counsels patients on health, prevention, and treatment options; educates on self-care.
• Reviews data and adjusts care plans; documents care plans and patient summaries.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care across life span according to department standards.
