Responsibilities

• Evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute and critical patients within an inpatient hospital setting.
• Acts as the primary patient and physician contact, facilitating access to specialty teams.
• Provides clinical direction to nursing staff and ensures patient receives recommended care.
• Prescribes and regulates therapies across care settings, including controlled medications.
• Manages care coordination including pre-operative plans, discharge planning, and referrals.
• Orders, performs, and interprets procedures and tests to manage conditions as directed by a physician.
• Counsels patients on health, prevention, and self-care strategies.
• Interprets patient data and adjusts care plans in collaboration with physicians.
• Maintains patient care plans and records with proper documentation.
• Demonstrates age-specific knowledge and delivers appropriate care per department policies.
