Job summary

StartupNWA is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) to join our inpatient hospital team. The NP will collaborate with hospitalists and other APPs to provide comprehensive care for hospitalized patients.

Must be a graduate of an accredited NP program with a current NP license, CPR certification, and national certification. At least 3 years of acute care experience is required, with ability to manage exams, orders, treatments, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Licensure and Certifications: Nurse Practitioner License and CPR, required. National certification, required.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in a previous acute care clinical nursing role, required.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses.
• Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests.
• Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary.
• Prescribe and dispense medications.
• Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records.
• Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage preventative health care and positive health behaviors.
• Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics.
• Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects.
