Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Mobility Technician to support clinical staff in an inpatient setting. You will assist with patient mobility, transports, and basic clerical tasks under supervision, while maintaining safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED, homeschool equivalency, etc.).
• Experience: 1 year as Patient Care Assistant/Nursing Assistant in acute care or 6 months therapy experience or nursing student with first clinical rotation.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate in English and provide customer service in a clinical setting.
• Proficient with computers and multiple hospital information systems (EHR) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient mobility and transfers in inpatient settings.
• Maintain and inspect equipment; ensure infection control practices.
• Stock supplies and assist with procurement.
• Provide basic clerical support and document patient care procedures.
• Support safety and patient/family-centered care initiatives.
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to support care delivery.
