Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a Mental Health Worker for the Inpatient unit in Aurora, IL. This night shift (7pm-7:30am, 12-hour shifts) role supports licensed staff in delivering daily patient care and maintaining a safe environment for adults and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, documenting care, and communicating patient information to the RN. Current CNA license or equivalent experience in a hospital setting is required, with BLS

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State if a CNA.
• If not a CNA, must have a minimum of one year experience working as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care, including activities of daily living.
• Support unit functions and maintain a safe, clean environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to supervising RN and perform basic nursing care for adults and geriatric patients.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned.
