Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking a Mental Health Worker Inpatient to assist licensed nursing staff under RN supervision, delivering basic patient care for adults and geriatric patients during night shifts.

This part-time role operates 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with rotating weekends/holidays. Eligible candidates include CNAs with state license or those with at least one year of hospital Mental Health experience; BLS certification within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid CNA license issued by the State; if not a CNA, minimum of one year experience as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting.
• BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• One year prior mental health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care including assistance with activities of daily living.
• Support unit functions and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors and co-workers; communicate pertinent patient information to the supervising RN.
• Performs some clerical duties as assigned and provides basic nursing care for the adult and geriatric patients.
