Job summary

The Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) at SUNY Upstate Medical University’s Golisano Center for Special Needs provides care in inpatient units. You will join a behavior team, participate in treatment plan implementation, assist patients with daily living activities while ensuring privacy and dignity, and manage data related to care processes in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Schedule is based on a 40-hour work week including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of full-time direct patient care experience in a mental health setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily meetings with the behavior team to discuss treatment plans.
• Assist in implementing treatment plans for inpatients.
• Help patients with daily living activities while preserving privacy and dignity.
• Manage data related to patient care and treatment outcomes.
• Support the execution of behavioral treatment procedures.
• Use time efficiently in the absence of specific tasks.
• Identify issues and suggest strategies to resolve them.
