Job summary

Frontier Behavioral Health is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join the inpatient team in Spokane. You will monitor patients, document activities, and support clinical staff in delivering compassionate care.

The role requires an active Nursing Assistant registration, a High School Diploma or GED, and BLS certification with eligibility for within 90 days. Expect a weekend night shift with strong benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must have an active Nursing Assistant Registration or NAC at time of application.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Food Handlers Permit within 7 days of hire.
• Active BLS certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise client activities and behaviors per unit plan.
• Complete objective clinical documentation in a timely manner.
• Provide feedback to clinical staff on patient interactions and behaviors.
• Report changes in patient condition or potential crises to the charge nurse.
• Adhere to and follow the patient’s written treatment plan.
• Provide redirection and de-escalation as trained.
• Maintain line-of-sight monitoring of patients.
• Perform general house cleaning tasks (vacuum, dishes, laundry, sanitation).
• Engage patients in social conversation and supportive listening.
• Assist with admissions and inventory of patients’ belongings as needed.
• Attend trainings, meetings and supervision sessions.
• Serve patient meals and snacks.
• Maintain positive customer service for internal and external clients.
