Job summary

BMCHS in the Brockton area seeks a Mental Health Specialist to join the inpatient psychiatry team under supervision of a registered nurse. You will provide age-appropriate care for adults 18+, help implement treatment plans, and document progress and safety checks.

Collaborating with social workers and clinicians, you will lead groups and assist with crisis intervention as needed. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and MH-related experience are preferred; night schedule available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HS Diploma/GED with 2 years' experience in mental health or related field, or MH Specialist certificate.
• One year of direct patient care experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop helpful relationships with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Attend shift reports and review patient data to determine status.
• Implement and monitor treatment plans and behavior management.
• Document patient care and progress each shift.
• Conduct individual patient contacts and review needs.
• Provide patient/family education and supports regarding milieu and goals.
• Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation per CPI policies.
