Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor for a part-time role (32 hours per week) in the adult inpatient psychiatric unit. The counselor will provide evaluation, diagnosis and evidence-based psychotherapy under clinical supervision.

Responsibilities include risk assessment, safety planning, and delivering individual, group and family therapies using approaches such as CBT, motivational interviewing, DBT, ACT, and recovery-oriented care, while collaborating

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology or related field.
• Oregon Professional Counselor License required.
• Experience with cognitive behavioral therapy or related approaches preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized psychotherapy services per CPT to treat psychiatric and substance use disorders.
• Perform assessment of patient risk and develop risk reduction plans under supervision.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team on the adult inpatient psychiatric unit.
