Job summary

Providence Health Plan Group is seeking a part-time Professional Counselor at Providence Portland Medical Center. The role includes diagnosing and treating psychiatric and substance use disorders while collaborating with patients and their support systems.

Qualifications

• Oregon Professional Counselor License or Oregon Professional Counselor Associate License upon hire.
• 1 year experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
• Additional experience in substance use treatment setting is a plus.

Description

Professional Counselor (part‑time, variable shift) at Providence Portland Medical Center. The Professional Counselor practices in a treatment setting under clinical supervision and is dedicated to evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric and substance use disorders. The counselor collaborates with patients and support systems to evaluate and diagnose patients.

Responsibilities

• Group facilitation, safety planning, milieu management, and participation as member of the interdisciplinary care team on the Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit.
• Collaborate with patients and support systems to evaluate and diagnose psychiatric and substance use disorders under clinical supervision.

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree - Counseling or related field.
• Oregon Professional Counselor License upon hire or
• Oregon Professional Counselor Associate License - Oregon Board of Licensed Counselors and Therapists upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year - Master's level practicum in a behavioral health setting in an accredited college or university internship.
• Additional experience in substance use treatment setting.
