Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses medication orders according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Evaluate all medications orders for appropriateness of the drug, dose, frequency, and route of administration; interactions and contraindications.
• Provides/assists with pharmacokinetic dosing of designated medications.
• Provide accurate and timely drug information to physicians, nurses and patients as needed.
• Detects and reports suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Documents all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely.
• Dispense and maintain records of controlled substances in accordance with federal and state laws.
• Supervises and directs pharmacy support personnel, verifying activities of pharmacy technicians.
• Works independently with minimal supervision. Organizes and prioritizes work assignments.
