Job summary

Big Bend Hospice is hiring an Inpatient Unit Registered Nurse (RN) for our IPU at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The role is full-time, day shift, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, with a 3 days on / 4 days off schedule and weekend differential.

You will deliver expert hospice nursing care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and support patients and families with symptom management and end-of-life care in a state-of-the-art center.

Qualifications

• Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License (or Compact License).
• Minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing patient evaluations.
• Manage pain and complex symptoms using hospice practices.
• Administer medications, treatments, and comfort-focused interventions.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement plans of care.
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the hospice journey.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Respond to changes in patient condition with clinical expertise and compassion.
• Promote dignity, comfort, and quality of life for every patient.
