Job summary

Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, AZ seeks Registered Nurses for inpatient palliative care units. The role offers a day shift schedule (0700–1930) and full-time employment (36 hours per week).

Nurses educate patients and families, manage pain and symptoms, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide compassionate care in a not-for-profit setting. Minimum requirements include a nursing degree and at least one year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum one year of recent clinical nursing experience.
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
• Time management and attention to detail.
• Team player with professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Plan care and intervene effectively to manage symptoms.
• Provide pain/symptom assessment and relief.
• Facilitate transitions between care settings.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes.
• Support the death/dying process with sensitivity.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team.
• Document promptly and accurately.
• Use resources efficiently and adhere to standards.
• Maintain professional skills and conduct.
