Redcrest Hospice seeks a Manager, Clinical Hospice to oversee staff and patient care services. The role ensures quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across the hospice program and collaborates with the Medical Director to guide patient care decisions.

Candidates should have 3+ years as an RN in hospice, strong leadership, and excellent communication. This on-site role requires active RN licensure and availability for field visits and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees personnel and patient care services for hospice.

The Clinical Manager is responsible for monitoring compliance, quality and safe delivery of services by following clinical processes. The company adopts the Nursing scope of practice as outlined by the State for its licensed nursing personnel. Provides backup to the Director of Nursing/Executive Director as needed.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEnsures quality and safe delivery of hospice services for patients throughout their entire length of stayProvides appropriate level of coaching and support related to hospice careCollaborates with Medical Director to guide care and ensure complianceWorks to meet/exceed quality indicators for staff qualifications and hospice servicesManages intake collaboration, providing daily direction and balancing referral volume with staffingEnsures Start of Care compliance and focuses on assigned Outcome MonitorsImplements field quality improvement programsParticipates in on-call rotation and manages the on-call calendar for staffHandles staffing needs including PTO, call-offs, and productivity reviewsCompletes field visits as needed and manages cost efficiency (supplies, overtime, visits per episode)Works with billing department on authorization requests and exceptionsMaintains positive relationships with referral sources (physicians, hospitals, facilities, families)Oversees monthly IDG meetings and reviews clinical documentation for complianceProcesses complaints and reports staffing issues to leadershipMaintains active RN license and participates in in-service program developmentDemonstrates core values and professional appearance as company representativeImplements agency policies and procedures effectivelyMay serve as backup Director of Nursing/Executive Director when neededPerforms other duties as assignedMANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the day-to-day management of field staff.Interviewing, hiring, training and termination of department personnel.Provides consistent coaching and provides challenge and opportunity to direct reports.Supervises direct reports with consistency and clarity of expectations.Completes yearly evaluations in an accurate and timely manner.Performs coaching, counseling and discipline as needed.Works with direct reports to ensure employee satisfaction and resolution of issues and concerns.Timecard management.QUALIFICATIONSThree years of experience as a RN in hospiceStrong critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve clinical needsAbility to create positive impressions and communicate with a variety of peopleExemplary communication skills and customer focusAbility to remain calm, have patience and be accommodatingCompassionate and caring while working with patientsAbility to resolve conflict using conflict management skillsKnowledgeable on nursing best practices and able to make appropriate nursing judgmentsDetail-oriented and observantAbility to resolve tough decision-making situations and provide direction to staffAbility to prioritize and be timelyAbility to clinically triage the needs of the department to ensure team goals are met timelyTakes advantage of available resources (individuals, processes, departments, and tools) to complete work effectively and efficientlyApplies fact-based knowledge of technical skills and business understandingAbility to follow directions and work as a team memberValid driver’s license and auto insurance.EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALSCurrent RN license in the state of employmentWe’ll help you put your passion for patient care to work.
