Job summary

University Medical Associates in Charleston, SC, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Hematology/Oncology inpatient service for full-time coverage.

The APP will work under a supervising physician, handling adult malignant hematology cases, with 4 10-hour shifts per week, and responsibilities including history taking, exams, procedures, referrals, and documentation, while maintaining licensure and certifications. Inpatient focus with a population aged 13 years to death.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited PA or NP program and current licensure or eligibility.
• Experience with inpatient hematology/oncology care is preferred.
• Ability to manage adult patients with malignant hematology conditions.

Responsibilities

• Take comprehensive history and perform physical examinations.
• Evaluate and treat based on tests and guidelines within scope.
• Perform procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures as privileges allow.
• Initiate referrals and communicate with attending or collaborating physician.
• Maintain documentation, coding, and participate in quality improvement activities.
