Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic is hiring for a full-time Advanced Practice Provider to join the Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition team for inpatient GI consult coverage at Hillcrest Hospital on days and weekends. The role may include outpatient clinics depending on department needs.

The ideal candidate is autonomous, collaborative and adaptable to a multidisciplinary team. APRN/PA candidates with relevant experience or new graduates are welcome to apply; strong emphasis on education, patient care

Qualifications

• MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• Graduate of AR CP program for Physician Assistants (PA) with Master’s degree in PA studies or higher.
• Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner and RN in applicable states; national certification for NP.

Responsibilities

• Conducts thorough medical histories and physical examinations; collaborates with the health care team.
• Performs diagnostic procedures and interprets lab and imaging results.
• Prescribes and monitors medications as permitted by license and policy.
• Educates patients about diseases, treatments, and side effects.
• Participates in medical rounds and ensures continuity of care across the care team.
• Facilitates discharge planning and length of stay optimization.
• Supports professional development and translation of evidence-based practices.
• May serve as a clinical preceptor and onboard new caregivers.
