Job summary

The University of Kentucky is seeking an APP General Surgery for inpatient support in the General, Endocrine & Metabolic Surgery (GEMS) team. You will manage patient care from admission through discharge, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and assist in the operating room, with occasional outpatient duties.

Applicants must be APRN with ACNP or RNFA or PA-C certification; MSN/BS for eligibility is required. Schedule includes daytime shifts with on-call and one Thursday evening per week.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• APRNs with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or RNFA certification or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C).

Responsibilities

• Inpatient care management from admission to discharge.
• Evaluate consults in the emergency room and hospital, perform daily visits.
• Coordinate discharge planning and documentation in the electronic health record.
• Assist in the operating room.
• Outpatient responsibilities may include faculty clinics and/or autonomy for evaluation of hospital follow-up care.
