Job summary

MDHHS seeks Forensic Security Assistants at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry, 8303 Platt Road, Saline, MI. Duties include direct nursing care, transportation, and security in a therapeutic inpatient setting with mentally ill patients.

Requires independent judgment and physical agility for daily living and diversional activities. Applicants must meet education requirements and be willing to undergo a thorough background investigation and training.

Qualifications

• Completion of 21 semester (32 term) college credits in any field.
• Forensic Security Assistant 8: No specific type or amount is required.
• Forensic Security Assistant 9: One year of experience equivalent to a Forensic Security Assistant 8.
• Forensic Security Assistant E10: Two years of Forensic Security Assistant experience including one year as a Forensic Security Assistant 9.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing care duties, transportation, and security at an adult mentally ill forensic facility.
• Oversight and participation with patients in therapeutic activities of daily living and diversional activities.
• Respond to a variety of patient care and security related functions with appropriate independent judgment.
