Job summary

Riverview Psychiatric Center in Maine seeks a BC/BE Psychiatrist to join our inpatient staff. The role includes forensic psychiatry consultations, collaboration with hospital treatment teams, and teaching opportunities across allied fields with leading experts.

Responsibilities include evaluations, psychopharmacology assessments, and care coordination within the state’s mental health system. The position is Monday–Friday in a state-run facility with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current license to practice medicine in the State of Maine. Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
• Experience as a hospital psychiatrist and treatment of individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and co‑morbid substance use disorders.
• Forensic psychiatry training or experience in forensic settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide forensic psychiatry consultative services to hospital treatment teams and community partners.
• Evaluate and manage psychiatric care in incarcerated settings and support transitions across state mental health services.
• Engage in teaching opportunities and interdisciplinary collaboration with clinical directors and allied fields.
