Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an Inpatient Exercise Physiologist to join the acute care rehabilitation team. You will develop and implement mobilization and exercise programs for patients with complex medical needs in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Required: Bachelor's in Health/Fitness, ACSM-CEP or eligible to test, BLS; Master's preferred. 40 hours weekly with weekend variability and benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health/Fitness required; Exercise Physiology degree preferred; Master's degree preferred.
• ACSM-CEP certification or eligible to test; BLS HCP required.
• 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Ability to push and transfer patients; effective communication with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and performs patient mobilization and exercise programs.
• Assesses patient readiness for mobilization by reviewing medical records.
• Coordinates care with nursing and therapy services.
• Explains mobilization role to patient and family; verifies orders.
• Performs mobilization and aids in adaptive positioning for safety and performance.
• Monitors patient performance and adjusts plan as needed.
• Documents daily treatment notes and patient education.
