Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for inpatient cardiology, collaborating with physicians to manage a distinct patient population. The APP delivers high-quality, evidence-based care with strong clinical judgment and documentation standards.

Eligible candidates include AGACNP/ACNP or PA; acute care NP is required, with cardiology and EP APP experience preferred. Schedule: (4) 10-hour days per week, weekend coverage every 6 weeks.

Qualifications

• AGACNP/ACNP or PA: eligibility required.
• Cardiology experience required.
• EP APP experience strongly preferred.
• Acute care NP certification required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document health history and perform focused exams with plan of care.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to manage inpatient patient care.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests; use clinical data to guide care.
• Form differential diagnoses and treat acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies to achieve outcomes.
• Follow evidence-based protocols and pathways for patient safety.
• Facilitate referrals and consultations as needed.
• Coordinate patient transitions between care settings; ensure smooth handoffs.
• Note: additional duties may be assigned.
