Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks an EEG Clinical Unit Leader to supervise the inpatient EEG unit, mentor staff, and support the Clinical Neurophysiology Services department in achieving quality and financial targets.

Requirements include a CAAHEP-accredited END program, ABRET EEG Technician registration, and a minimum of three years EEG experience, plus BLS certification. This role reports to the EEG Coordinator and operates within MUSC's equal opportunity framework.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited END program or equivalent, and ABRET EEG Technician registration is required and must be maintained.
• Minimum of three years EEG Technician work experience in a clinical setting.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the inpatient EEG unit and supervise staff under limited supervision.
• Support Clinical Neurophysiology Services, ICCE and MUSC goals including quality and efficiency targets.
• Act as mentor and resource for staff and patients.

Job Description

The inpatient EEG Staff Leader reports to the EEG Coordinator. Under limited supervision, the inpatient EEG Unit Leader supports the Clinical Neurophysiology Services department, ICCE and Medical Center goals. Goals include achievement of clinical and quality measures, operational efficiency, financial targets as well as population/age specific needs of the department. This role functions as a mentor and resource for staff and patients.

Additional Job Description

Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited program of Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology or the equivalent and registered as an EEG Technician by ABRET required and must be maintained. Three years EEG Technician work experience required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
