Job summary

Select Medical in Memphis, TN is seeking a part-time Registered Dietitian to join the inpatient nutrition team at Baptist East Hospital. You will provide medical nutrition therapy, perform nutrition assessments, and coordinate nutrition care with the medical and food service teams to ensure accurate diet orders and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure/certification, if required by state.
• Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
• One (1) year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nutritional care to patients, including development, implementation and monitoring of Medical Nutrition Therapies.
• Collaborate with medical staff, patients, families and food service to ensure nutrition plans are implemented.
• Perform nutritional assessments and re-assessments, monitor progress and adjust care as needed.
• Develop and monitor enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens.
• Coordinate with Speech Therapy to progress textured modified diets safely.
• Review orders to ensure nutrition support aligns with formulary and diet manual.
• Incorporate religious, cultural, and ethnic factors into care plans.
• Educate staff on Nutrition Care Manual and maintain materials for downtime.
• Stay current with nutritional practices and continuing education.
