Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care AG in Mobile, AL is seeking a dialysis support technician to provide patient care under the direct supervision of the Hemodialysis RN in the acute setting. You will ensure safety, document treatment data, and maintain a clean, compliant dialysis environment.

You will set up and prime equipment as directed, monitor patients, record vital signs and weights, and report any concerns to the RN.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CMS/state or national certification within required state or CMS timeline.
• Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ishihara color vision test required; accommodations possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direct supervision of the Hemodialysis RN for assigned patient(s) in the dialysis suite in the acute setting.
• Report and document all new and unusual incidents, information, complaints, or problems to the RN.
• Promote and assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
• Assist in quality improvement activities related to patient satisfaction and FMCNA QEP/QAI goals.
• With documented competency may set up and prime equipment as directed by the Fresenius Nurse for renal replacement therapies.
• Ensure dialysis machine setup, testing, and safety per policy and procedures.
• Welcomes patients and inquires about their well-being since their last treatment.
• Obtain pre and post treatment vital signs and weight; report findings to the RN.
• Document treatment information in EMS/ACES patient records.
• Assist with various department projects as assigned.
