Fresenius Medical Care in Pensacola seeks an entry-level Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician to assist in delivering safe dialysis therapy under RN supervision. You will help with setup, monitoring, and documentation of treatments for assigned patients in a hospital/acute care setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CMS/state certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
• Effective communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Employees must undergo Ishihara Color Blindness test as a condition of employment; accommodations may be available.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direct supervision of the Hemodialysis Registered Nurse (RN) for assigned patients in the dialysis suite.
• Report and document new or unusual incidents, information, complaints, or problems to the RN.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and participate in quality improvement activities as directed.
• Set up and prime equipment when competency is documented and directed by the Fresenius Nurse.
• Ensure dialysis machines are correctly set up, tested, and safe for treatment per policies and manufacturer instructions.
• Document patient treatment information accurately in EMS and ACES systems.
• Record and input dialysis machine programming parameters (UF goal, treatment time, Na modeling) as prescribed.
• Assist with venous cannulation reporting in line with state requirements; report unusual findings to RN.
• Observe and report patient responses to dialysis therapy; intervene as ordered by physician or RN.
• Assist in termination of venous access with appropriate hemostasis and dressings; assess patient before discharge.
• Follow Code of Business Conduct and company policies; participate in department or location-specific duties as assigned.
