Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Pensacola, FL seeks a Hemodialysis Technician to support daily patient care in the inpatient dialysis unit. Under RN supervision, you will assist with cannulation, monitor vital signs, document treatment, and ensure equipment safety and cleanliness.

The role requires high school diploma and the ability to pass color vision testing; 6 months of related experience preferred. Training provided; travel between facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Effective communication skills – both verbal and written.
• CMS/state requirements and color vision testing may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direct supervision of the Hemodialysis Registered Nurse.
• Report and document all incidents, information, complaints, or problems to the RN.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment and participate in QEP/QAI activities.
• Set up and prime equipment as directed by the Fresenius Nurse after competency.
• Ensure the dialysis machine is set up, tested, and safe for treatment per policy.
• Document patient treatment information in EMS/ACES.
• Record vital signs, weights, and post-treatment data; report unusual findings to the RN.
• Assist with cannulation reporting as permitted by state requirements; assist in discharge observations.
