Job summary

Solventum, a new healthcare company with a legacy in solving challenges, is seeking a senior coding and CDI professional. You will validate software modules, collaborate with clinical teams and clients, and lead CDI initiatives across facilities.

The role requires extensive inpatient coding and CDI experience, RHIT/RHIA or RN with CDI credentials, and willingness to travel up to 50% domestically/internationally. This is a remote US-based position with the potential for onsite onboarding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) with seven (7) years of coding or acute care clinical experience OR High School Diploma/GED with eleven (11) years of clinical or coding experience.
  • RHIT/RHIA with CCS certification with five (5) years of Inpatient coding experience and five (5) years of CDI experience OR Valid RN License with five (5) years acute care experience and CDI credential from ACDIS or AHIMA with 5 years CDI Inpatient experience.
  • Master's degree in HIM, Nursing, or related healthcare field is a plus (optional)

Responsibilities

  • Validation and application of software modules relating to coding and training.
  • Collaborating with the coding and clinical team and external clients including content creation.
  • Assisting in presenting clinical and coding concepts to hospitals and implementing CDI programs across facilities.
  • Leading audit tasks of medical record coding, documentation, compliance and DRG assignment.

Education

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
  • Validation and application of software modules relating to coding and training
  • Collaborating with the coding and clinical team members and external clients includes content creation
  • Assisting in presenting clinical and coding concepts to various hospitals and/or organizations and implementing and supporting Clinical Documentation Integrity programs in multiple facilities
  • Leading audit tasks of medical record coding, documentation, compliance and DRG assignment
  • Participating in relevant corporate programs/initiatives and ensuring professional, quality and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties and complying with corporate policies and procedures while acting in a manner consistent with Solventum's values and ethical standards
Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and seven (7) years of experience as a coding professional or acute care clinical experience OR High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) and eleven (11) years of clinical or coding experience
  • RHIT/RHIA with CCS certification with five (5) years of Inpatient coding experience with Five (5) years of CDI experience or/ Valid RN License with five (5) years acute care experience and recognized CDI credential from ACDIS (CCDS) or AHIMA (CDIP), with 5 years CDI Inpatient experience Ability to travel up to 50% domestically/internationally
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include
  • Master's degree in HIM, Nursing, or other healthcare clinical background (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Experience with telecommuting, working with EMRs and other electronic tools
  • Knowledgeable in Solventum HIS software portfolio (360 Encompass)
  • Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office programs and excellent verbal, written, presentation, analytical and organizational skills
Additional Requirements

In this role, you may be required to enter healthcare or other third-party facilities. Those facilities may, in turn, require you to possess certain licenses, vaccinations, and/or other credentials or qualifications (collectively “prerequisites to entry”) for regulatory, safety, or other business reasons. All information will be kept in accordance with applicable law and Solventum policies. In order to respond to the prerequisites to entry, Solventum may share your information with the providers of medical screens, vaccinations, or verifications as well as the healthcare or other third-party facilities requiring the prerequisites to entry.

Onboarding Requirement

To improve the onboarding experience, you will have an opportunity to meet with your manager and other new employees as part of the Solventum new employee orientation. As a result, new employees hired for this position will be required to travel to a designated company location for on-site onboarding during their initial days of employment. Travel arrangements and related expenses will be coordinated and paid for by the company in accordance with its travel policy. Applies to new hires with a start date of October 1st 2025 or later.

The expected compensation range for this position is $125,600 - $172,700, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
