Job summary

United Health Services (UHS) in New York's Southern Tier seeks an Inpatient Coder III to independently code inpatient records, assigning ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes per guidelines and policies. Requires 2 years inpatient coding experience and DRG knowledge; day shift, 40 hours/week.

The position offers competitive hourly compensation and benefits as part of UHS Revenue Cycle Operations. CPC/RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CIC certification is required or becoming certified, with CIC preferred.

Position Overview

The Inpatient Coder III performs independent coding of inpatient medical records, ensuring accuracy assigning ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient hospital encounters in compliance with official coding guidelines, regulatory agencies, and hospital policies. This role requires prior coding experience and strong knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) assignment, clinical documentation, and coding compliance.

$33.63 - $50.45 per hour, depending on experience

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma
• Two (2) years of inpatient coding experience
